Comparative studies on Islamic texts, particularly on Quranic verses, are of particular importance and status. The first six verses of the Chapter "The Evident Smoke" (al-Dokhan) briefly explain the eminence and magnificence of the Revealer, the revealed, the receiver and time of the revelation. Therefore, the issue of the Night of Decree and revelation of the Quran can be discussed in the commentaries of abovementioned verses. The comparative commentary of these verses shows that the best interpretation of the isolated (detached) letters "Ha- Mim" is "O Muhammad", based on the guidance of infallible Imams (peace be upon them), that of "al-Kitab al-Mobin" is "swearing to the Manifest Book", that is, determined affairs form Guarded Tablet, that of revelation is the revelation of the Quran at the Night of Decree as well as determining the affairs from the Guarded Tablet, and that of revelation is the sudden revelation of simple and brief Quran or its reality which is not in the form of words and legislative; rather, it is in creation which was emanated into the Prophet's heart (May the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him and his progeny). It can be said that these verses address the Holy Prophet, consequently other people as well. A wise affair is an affair which requires the attachment of command and prohibition due its accuracy and actualizes after the requirement and creation. This occurs at the Night of Decree through determining the affairs from the Guarded Tablet. Then it is revealed into Prophet's heart and completed during gradual revelation appropriate to the occasion and its delivery to people by Holy Prophet.

There are several verses in the Holy Quran indicative of scientific authority of Holy Prophet's Household, some of which are stated clearly and through exact indication and others through indication per nexum. One of these verses is the verse 43 of the chapter "Ant" (al-Naml), which clearly refers to the scientific authority of Holy Prophet's household and is much similarly repeated in the verse 7 of the chapter "Prophets" (al-Anbia'). In this verse, The Most High God States, "And we did not send before you any but men to whom we send revelation; so ask the followers of the people of knowledge if you do not know". Having reviewed the key concepts, the present paper seeks to study different views about the referent of people of knowledge. First, a standpoint which, on the basis of the context of the verse, regards the people of knowledge as the people of book is discussed and its problems are explained. Then the limitations of another standpoint are clarified, which regards the verse as a general one in terms of asker, the asked and the object of question. Finally, the view of some Shi'a and Sunni scholars who, relying on hadiths, regard the Holy Prophet's Household as the referent of the verse are explained and the relevant hadiths narrated in Shi'a and Sunni sources are taken into consideration.

All Shia Imamiyyah scholars regard "common usage" as a valid and authorized criterion to determine the concepts of legal propositions, and some specialists in the first principles and great jurisprudents even hold that it is a criterion to determine the referents as well, but all explicitly reject its effectiveness as a source of jurisprudence and inference of injunctions. However, Sunni schools have more or less accepted "common usage" as a source of jurisprudence and inference of injunctions along with other sources, despite their own internal differences. The verse 199 in the Chapter "The Elevated Places" (al-A'raf) which reads, "Take to forgiveness and enjoin good and turn aside from the ignorant" is one the most important Quranic verses cited and argued by Sunni scholars to prove the independent validity and authority of the "common usage". Using a library method to gather the data, a documentary method to report the views and content analysis method to analyze the data, the present paper seeks to review, analyze and criticize the views of commentators, particularly Sunni commentators, about the content of the verse in terms of using it as proof for the authority of "common usage" as an independent source of jurisprudence. It concludes that the terms "common usage" and "good" in the verse do not have technical connotation; rather, they mean good deed or manner the goodness of which is proved by reason or Sacred Law.

The problem of absolute determination and free will is one of the oldest theological discussions in the world of Islam, caused by contemplation and reflection on Quranic verses. Regarding the interpretation of these verses, Muslim commentators and theologians have been divided into two groups of determinists and libertarians. Fakhr Razi, a prominent Ash'arite theologian and commentator, has made great attempts to prove the theory of absolute determination. One of the most fundamental parts of his theory is the affirmation of absolute determination on the basis of the interpretation of Quranic verses. In his arguments, Razi tries to prove that free acts are determined through arguing that God is the Unique, Creator and Maker and that his knowledge attaches to free acts. Given Allamah Tabatabaii's intellectual principles in al-Mizan commentary, some of these arguments suffer internal inconsistency and are negated by verses proving man's free will. Regarding God as Creator and Maker does not necessitate the determination of man's acts, because God has created man free and His knowledge attaches to doing acts freely.

Holy Quran has been the book for guidance of mankind in all the ages. To profit by this divine book its verses should be comprehended precisely and properly and many scientific efforts have been done by all the interpreters through the history for this exact understanding. All of the interpreters have tried to interpret Quran based on their own ability and knowledge regarding deep insights appeared in Quran. This has caused different methods of interpretation to be born during centuries.Scientific interpretation as an independent method has been the object of desire among many scientists and interpreters of the two sects although it has been more in mind in recent decades and it can be said that Quran scientific interpretation is in a new stage. Moreover, it can be one of different approaches to Holy Quran and of course like any other scientific effort in this seminary has its own advantages and shortcomings, which all, should be studied with a meticulous and fair view.

After the Holy Prophet's passing away and due to the expansion of conquests of Islamic world, new intellectual and ideological schools and sects emerged, each of which relied on the Holy Quran to prove their own beliefs and provided incorrect esoteric commentaries and exegeses. This made Shia scholars to resolve existing doubts and deviations in this regard through presenting Shia standpoint. Ibn Shahr Ashub Mazandarani is one the scholars who has greatly helped to promote invaluable teachings of Islam and the Holy Quran by writing valuable works, thus he has played a significant role in defending genuine beliefs of Shia. Using a descriptive-analytical method, the present paper seeks to analyze his commentary-theological views and his way of confrontation with such groups as Mu'tazilites, Determinists, Attributists, Anthropomorphists, Ash'arites, extremists, Isma'ililtes, Zaidites, Kaysanites and Kharejites through scrutinizing his book "Motashabeh al-Quran and Mokhtalefah". The results show that he has studied and criticized the views of other theological schools with reference to "the judgement of reason, Quranic verses, hadiths, Arabic literature and historical documents".

The verse "warn your closest relatives" (26:214) is one of the most important verses explaining Holy Prophet's mission on Islam, warning his closest relatives and designating his successor in order to found Islam in its first center at the onset of his mission. It is the first verse which commands Holy Prophet to warn his own closest relatives at early days of his mission. Although the warning addresses general public, it starts with Holy Prophet's closest relatives for some reasons. Correct interpretation of the verse and knowing aftermath of its revelation has a significant role in understanding the process of designating Imam in Islam, because it is a strong document of rightfulness of Shia views on Imamate and Imams of Islamic nation, given the conclusive and widely transmitted hadiths which are discussed in the works of Shia and Sunny works. These hadiths clearly show that Imam Ali (Commander of the Faithful) was the only person who accepted Holy Prophet's request to be his successor. There are, however, different inconsistent hadiths and commentaries in general commentary works caused by political grudges and counterfeited to confront with 'Alavi (followers of Imam Ali) Shia, which should be reviewed and criticized and the correct commentary of the verse and its relevant hadiths should be explained. Therefore, the present paper carefully studies the horizons of revelation of the verse "warning" and its epistemology, criticizes commentary views of Shia and Sunni and hadiths related to the occasions of its revelation, reviews the commonalities and differences and provides the researchers of commentary with the results.
