Abstract

Verse 89 of Surah An-Nahl, known as the Tabyan Verse, has been extensively explored from various perspectives by interpreters and Quranic scholars. The most discussed topic has been the implication of the phrase "everything," which has also led to further questions: How can the text of the Quran contain meanings so numerous that it is described as "a clarification for everything," and who can access this repository of meanings and how? The aim of this research is to compare and contrast the views of Allameh Tabatabaee and Allameh Hasan-Zadeh on two related issues: first, the inclusiveness of "everything," and second, who is characterized by the understanding of the Quran with the description "a clarification for everything." Through studying the opinions of these two scholars in the mentioned areas, it is found that their views align in one direction without any fundamental structural differences, and the differences in their opinions are merely due to the level of detail and abstraction. It appears that the responses of Allameh Hasan-Zadeh are those of Allameh Tabatabaee, substantiated through the knowledge of self. Both scholars have approached the verse "a clarification for everything" from different paths and have converged on the same fundamental principles; these include general inclusiveness, the finality of the message and the book, symbolic expression, interpretation, and purification among the principles mentioned
