This study aims to analyze the methodological function of "repetition" in discovering the central objective (Gharard) of Surahs. The primary research question addresses the status of repetition as either a "decisive indicator (Qarinah-ye Kashif)" or a "supporting indicator (Qarinah-ye Muayyid)" within the interpretive process of objective-oriented exegesis. Employing a descriptive-analytical method and a structuralist approach, this paper comparatively examines the viewpoints of selected contemporary exegetes regarding Surah Adh-Dhariyat. The findings indicate that the function of repetition is not uniform; rather, it depends on the exegete's methodological presuppositions. In the structural-foundational approach (Al-Bustani), through lexical symmetry, and in the literary-educational approach (Sayyid Qutb), through the thematic repetition of provisions (Rizq), repetition serves as a "decisive indicator" for extracting the central objective. Conversely, in other argumentative and contemplative approaches, it plays no primary role in discovering the objective and is instead reinterpreted as a "supporting indicator." Furthermore, exegetes exhibit varying levels of comprehensiveness in observing different types of repetition (verbal, thematic, and conceptual). Notably, Al-Bustani—by relying on the lexical symmetry of the opening and closing passages and text architecture—demonstrates the highest degree of alignment with linguistic micro-structures in proving the organic unity of the text around its central objective (the reality of divine recompense).
