Nowadays, comparative interpretation has gained additional importance and luck along with the expansion of comparative topics in other sciences, but one of the harms that threatens comparative interpretation, especially in the field of theological and jurisprudential verses, is falling into the abyss of religious interpretation. Therefore, the necessity of distinguishing between comparative interpretation and religious interpretation is undeniable. The upcoming research seeks to answer these questions by using the textual research method: What is religious interpretation? And what are the similarities and differences with comparative interpretation? With the investigation that was done, after introducing the roots of religious interpretation and presenting two definitions of it, it was concluded that religious interpretation is a comparative interpretation in two axes: the existence of commonalities and differences, and the comparison between the opinions of two interpretations. Religion is similar to each other, and differs in four axes: scope, foundations, method, and end and result with comparative interpretation. In addition, the psychological factor, i.e., the exegete's belonging to a certain way in the interpretation, is one of the factors influencing the religiousness of the interpretation. Also, pointing out that each of the comparative and religious interpretations have their own function, the necessity of non-biased and reasoned religious interpretation has been emphasized.
